The Right Kind of Wrong by PJ Trebelhorn The Right Kind of Wrong by PJ Trebelhorn is a beautiful friends-to-lovers romance that shows how sometimes love has been in front of you all along, just waiting for the right time.

Quinn Burke and Grace Everett have been best friends for twenty years. They are each other’s rock and true constant, and a day doesn’t go by when they don’t talk. Their families don’t understand why they’ve never gotten together, but Quinn and Grace know a romantic relationship isn’t in the cards for them. Their friendship is perfect just the way it is.

When Quinn’s mother ends up in the hospital, everything starts to change for Quinn and Grace. Each woman feels like falling for the other is wrong. But maybe there’s a right kind of wrong?

The Characters

At the beginning of the book, Quinn is very happy picking up a new woman every night when she’s tending bar, not ready to date after having her heart broken a year and a half prior. Grace is in a relationship with a doctor who will be moving away in a few months and it’s going okay, even if Grace isn’t feeling the kind of spark she’d like to.

Watching them each acknowledge their feelings for the other is adorable, even as they experience angst over what it means for their friendship. They truly are perfect together, with the familiarity and ease that comes along with two decades of close friendship.

The Writing Style

The romance is perfectly paced, the writing is engaging, and the characters all had me interested.

The Narration

Paige McKinney was the perfect choice to narrate this book! She differentiates the characters well and does a fabulous job with them from the first minute of the story to the last.

The Pros

Everything!

The Cons

None for me.

The Conclusion

The Right Kind of Wrong is a great choice for anyone who’s a fan of lesbian romance, and especially for readers who love friends-to-lovers romances. It’s beautifully done and I highly recommend it.

Excerpt from The Right Kind of Wrong by PJ Trebelhorn

Quinn looked uncomfortable, but she smiled. “You’re really going to move to Syracuse?”

“I said I was thinking about it. Lauren won’t be moving until the end of October, so we’ll have time to figure things out.”

“I don’t think you should go.”

Grace studied Quinn’s face. She was so beautiful with her sculpted cheekbones and firm jaw. Her eyes were an amazing shade of green Grace had never seen before. She was wearing her dark brown hair longer these days. It was almost down to her shoulders. When they were younger, she’d often had it cut so short it would spike. Grace noticed a few gray hairs showing, but thought it better to not mention it.

“Why do you think I shouldn’t go?”

“Well, there’s your bookstore,” Quinn said, holding up a finger with each point she made. “And you’d be farther away from your grandparents. You grew up here. And you’d miss me.”

Grace smiled at the grin Quinn gave her, coupled with the nudge of an elbow into her ribs. All of Quinn’s points were valid, and it certainly wasn’t as if she hadn’t thought about all of those things on her own. Grace wasn’t getting any younger though, and she was feeling the need to settle down. Ms. Right had proved to be elusive, and Grace finally decided she needed to lower her standards a little.

“All very compelling points,” Grace said. “But like I told you, she won’t be going for a few more months, so there’s time to figure it all out. And I’m not entirely sure I am going. I’m just thinking about it.”

Quinn nodded, but she looked far from convinced.

“But the biggest reason I don’t think you should go? I don’t want you to,” Quinn said, her voice quiet. She refused to meet Grace’s eyes, and for some reason that bothered Grace.
