For A Moments Indiscretion by KA MollFor A Moment’s Indiscretion by KA Moll is a dramatic thriller. It is, quite frankly, KA Moll’s best work. It was an exciting, well paced and captivating audiobook.

10 years after the book Soul Mates – Zane and Jaina are not quite as happily married as they used to be. When Jaina makes a really big mistake it leads to a dangerous situation.

Moll throws everything and the kitchen sink at Jaina in this thrilling ride until she is put in a life or death situation with no way out.

Done as only KA Moll can, there is an exploration of psychological problems, marital strains and of course working through it to find balance again.

The Characters

Jaina was the main character in this one and I loved her. She made a stupid mistake and ended up spiraling down a dark road with no help in sight.

I loved that Anna and Gabe made a pivotal few appearances and that we saw what happened to Miss Bonny.

I adore the way Moll writes characters and the new one she introduces in this novel is brilliant. I don’t want to spoil it but let’s just say she was a fantastic catalyst to some interesting events.

The Writing Style

The pacing and timing of the novel were fantastic. I longed to get back to it as soon as I had to put it down and found myself doing chores just so I could spend more time with the audiobook.

The Narration

This is the first of Moll’s novels that I have listened to on audiobook and I am so glad that this was the first because it was spectacular. Written by KA Moll and narrated by Emily Beresford is a match made in heaven. It’s like Moll was writing just for her.

The Pros

Brilliant. I absolutely loved this novel and cannot wait to listen to it again.

The Cons

I feel a little sad that Moll is going back to her more traditional romances with her next book. She does thriller so well.

An absolute must-listen. Go get the audiobook right now. It is so, so good and I am thrilled that I got to experience the brilliance that is KA Moll writing a thriller – even if it was only once.

Excerpt from For A Moment’s Indiscretion by KA Moll

Jaina writhed underneath her blanket for the third time that night and the umpteenth time that week. The last time she struggled with nightmares like this was before she was married. She screamed inside her brain. Wake up! Her fear of being abandoned must have triggered them. Wake up! Jaina flung upward, like a rag doll under the will of another, swearing profusely and screaming.

Anna didn’t knock, she just came in. “Shhh,” she said softly. “You’re okay.” She sat down on the edge of the bed and gathered Jaina into her arms. She had a worried look on her face.

Gabe wore a similar expression as she looked in from the hallway.

“I’m so sorry,” Jaina said, gasping, “I don’t know what’s gotten into me.”

“I do,” Anna said kindly, “and it’s okay.” She looked up when BK came in.

“What’s wrong, Mommy?” BK asked. She has been sleeping in the bedroom next to Janina’s.

“I’m okay,” Jaina reassured, “I just has a bad dream.” She gave her daughter a hug and sent her back to bed.

Anna’s eyes narrowed. “Maybe we should make a doctor’s appointment for you,” she suggested.

Jaina shook her head. “There’s nothing a doctor can do for me,” she said, “unless she can fix my broken marriage.”

“You’d come out of the appointment with a prescription for a sleeping aid,” Anna countered. Her gaze became serious. “Jaina, I’m worried about you, honey,” she added, “please at least think about it.”

“I’ll think about it,” Jaina said. But no way was she going to let anyone poison her under the guide of medication. She was the only one she could trust now; the only one she could count on to keep her safe. She swung her legs one the side of the bed and slipped down the stairs. Sleep had become her enemy because it welcomed nightmares.
