The Midnight Hunt by LL Raand is a fun, supernatural lesbian book.

This is the beginning of the Midnight Hunters series featuring lesbian werewolves and vampires.

There are four main characters in this book and two overlapping story lines. The first is Medic Drake McKennan. She is bitten by a teenager while trying to save her life. Unfortunately the teenager was in the throes of Were fever which means that Drake also gets the fever and humans often don’t survive.

The next main character is Sylvan Mir, Alpha of the Adirondack Timberwolf Pack. Sylvan meets Drake and of course it is instant passion for both of them, but with Drake being sick the drama is great.

The other story line revolves around Detective Jody Gates, a detective and heir to a large Vampire dynasty and Becca Land a reporter. Both Becca and Jody are investigating the mysterious Were fever that is breaking out around the city and Becca insists that Jody help her. Of course, there is an attraction between the two.

The Characters

There is a nice variation on main characters, each is well rounded and they have clear motivations. There is also a good set of support cast who we grow to know and who become main players in future books.

The Writing Style

The style is clean, tight and good fun. Very graphic sex scenes that are really steamy and are sure to make the more modest lesbians out there blush.

The Pros

I loved this book. Midnight Hunt by LL Raand is a decent length and leaves you on a cliff hanger. Luckily you can move straight on to book two.

The Cons

No cons to this book, except perhaps the price. It is a little on the steep side, however it is a good book. Having said that, the price has come down a lot since I bought it if you buy it on Kindle.

A must read for all lovers of werewolves, vampires and a lot of erotic passion.

Excerpt from The Midnight Hunt by LL Raand

Sylvan hungered to free her wolf. After three days in the city, encased in a steel-and-glass building fifteen hours at a time with nothing but concrete under her feet at night she needed to fill her lungs with the scent or warm earth sweet pine, and rich, verdant life. She needed to run with her wolves and lead them on a kill. The insistent pressure between her thighs and the shimmer of pheromones coating her skin reminded her of another critical need, one not so readily satisfied. She’s gone too long without sexual release, but she couldn’t risk even a rough-and-ready tangle with a willing female when her wolf seemed insistent on claiming a mate. That she would never do.
