Matzo Match by Roz AlexanderMatzo Match by Roz Alexander is the erotic, Passover romance novella that you never knew you needed.

After getting her heart stomped all over, Sam is fine with being single during Passover. Of course, that doesn’t mean her friends are okay with it. Sam is thrown for a loop when her best friend brings a blind date for Sam to Sam’s own Passover dinner. Even worse? It’s a super-hot butch that Sam had drooled over that morning, during her last-minute dash to the grocery store.

In addition to being handsome as all get out, Jordan is kind, funny, and sweet. Their chemistry is through the roof and the sex turns out to be incredible. But Jordan is looking for long-time love and Sam isn’t sure her heart is ready for another relationship. Can Sam put her heartbreak aside and take a chance on new love?

Pros And My Favourite Parts

I don’t know about the rest of you, but after the events of the last year, I’ve found it a lot more difficult than usual to pay attention to one book at a time. I was pleasantly surprised to learn Matzo Match would be one of the exceptions to that rule.

I found it easy to get into, with the writing style and pacing keeping things moving along. The angst level was a little higher than I expected, but never overwhelmingly so. And, while the story follows Sam’s perspective only, Jordan shares enough about her history and her feelings that I felt like I still got to know both characters well. They both have pretty badly bruised hearts when they meet and I loved seeing them work things out, including their very believable happily ever after.

One other thing I loved: we see them at another Passover dinner (side note: there are several dinners in the story, so keep snacks handy when you’re reading Matzo Match) and everyone shares their pronouns. Let’s all normalize sharing pronouns!

Cons And Heads Up

I know some people aren’t super into strap-on scenes. This story has plenty and they’re all really well done. If that’s not your jam, just be aware that you might have a bit of skimming in your future (I still think the rest of the story is well worth the time).

The Conclusion

If you follow my reviews, you might remember that I’m a big fan of reading holiday romances even when it’s nowhere near that holiday. It happened again with Matzo Match and I’m so glad it did. It’s sweet, sexy, and kind of angsty. Make sure to pick it up, no matter what time of year it is.

Excerpt from Matzo Match by Roz Alexander

“If you want to share a nightcap, I brought some whisky.”

Sam cleared her throat and nodded, turning to pull down a beautiful pink crystal glass she’d found at a thrift shop and then reached blindly into Jordan’s backpack to find the bottle. Her hand closed around something distinctly not a glass bottle and she froze. Just at that moment, Jordan turned off the water , pulled the towel off her shoulder to dry her hands and turned around, catching sight of Sam’s expression.

“Oh. Yea, should have said I brought a few other things too.” Jordan laughed and moved forward to find the whisky herself.

“Is my hand around your cock right now?” Sam asked in a low voice.

“One of them, yes.”

“You brought a dildo to a stranger’s house?” Again, the incredible confidence of this woman! Sam felt more shocked by that than anything else.

“And a few other tools,” Jordan admitted with a mischievous smirk.

“Why!” It came out more exclamation than question.

“I was a Girl Scout, always prepared, etcetera.”
