Laid Bare - A Collection of Erotic Lesbian Stories edited by Astrid Ohletz and JaeLaid Bare: A Collection of Erotic Lesbian Stories is an anthology of eleven short stories that run the gamut from sweet to edgy, with everything in between. It’s filled with the work of some of the best authors from Ylva Publishing, and I think there is something for everyone in this volume.

The Characters

There is a diverse group of leading ladies in this anthology, and I appreciate seeing women of color, bisexual women, mature women, and a woman with a physical disability represented. Most importantly, the stories are all very sex positive, and the main characters know what they want and don’t mind asking for it or taking it.

The Writing Style

With this writing line-up, it’s no surprise that the stories are all well written. Each author has her own unique style, which makes for a varied collection of narratives. There are stories in which I got to catch up with characters I already knew, like Lee Winters’ Flashbang featuring the leading ladies from The Red Files and Under Your Skin, as well as Jae’s Worth the Wait staring the main characters from Just Physical. There’re also stories that introduced me to alluring new leading ladies such as Executive Dining by A. L. Brooks. I have read full-length novels or novellas from all the authors featured in this work, so it was a treat having them all gathered together in my living room to share their stories with me. (It would have only been weird if I had said “in my bedroom”.)

Let’s get to the nitty-gritty. This is erotica and every story is sexy with a capital S. The scenarios range from phone sex to a threesome and everything in between. Some of the scenes are sweet and whimsical while others are more dramatic. You won’t find any heavy kink here, but that’s not the focus of this anthology. I breezed through this collection in a day, leaving me with a loopy grin on my face.

The Pros

I’m a bit of a goof. I love it when erotica can make me laugh as well as, heat me up. There are a couple of stories that include some funny moments such as Erasing the Lines by KD Williamson, and Help Yourself by Emma Weimann. Those made me chuckle and blush at the same time.

The Cons

(In my best British accent.) More, please?

annas favourite booksThe Conclusion

First, I’m not a big fan of anthologies because I usually enjoy about 60% of the included stories. Secondly, when it comes to erotica, I’m a persnickety little thing. So it was a lovely surprise to find a selection that I liked across the board. There wasn’t one story that I wanted to gloss over to get to what was next, and they all had appealing elements to them. I sat for over an hour, trying to think of the one “standout” story that I would focus on, but that standout turned out to be a tie between seven stories. This is a fun and sexy read, or rather, a sexy and fun read. Enjoy!

Excerpt from Laid Bare: A Collection of Erotic Lesbian Stories

This excerpt is from Executive Dining by A.L. Brooks

Emily tilted her head. “Problem?”

“How come I’m the only one undressing?” Jamie’s tone was bordering on sullen. Once again, she was back to acting like a teenager. How the hell did Emily do that to her?

Emily stepped forward until she was mere inches away. “Jamie, you are one gorgeous butch of a woman, but you still haven’t figured this out yet, have you?”

When Jamie said nothing—because she couldn’t lie and say she had any of this figured out—Emily continued.

“Honey, I’m as top as it gets. If you want any piece of this”—she gestured at her own body—“you’re going to have to work hard to get it.” She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Jamie’s mouth. “But trust me, it’ll be so worth it.”

Jamie’s entire pussy throbbed. Air seemed hard to come by, and words were a fragment of memory from a life before this moment in this room. Everything was upside down. She was about to be topped, for the first time in her life. She should be fighting it. But God help her, she couldn’t muster any enthusiasm for trying to turn this tide.

She nodded.

Emily’s smile returned as she stepped back. “Good girl.”
