Forever Yours by Melissa TerezeForever Yours by Melissa Tereze is a second-chance romance where the mystery surrounding the separation is as intriguing as the women’s journey back to each other. You’ll feel their pain, their passion, and most importantly their rediscovery of the love they hold for one another.

Three years ago, Paisley Healy was working at the best law firm in Liverpool and broke the cardinal sin of falling for her beautiful boss, her mentor, Georgina Weaver. The job was supposed to be cut and dry, but love showed up right in front of Paisley’s face. To her surprise, that love was returned. Or so she thought. The night she revealed her feelings should have been magical, especially since Georgina returned that love. However, the very next day, Georgina ups and leaves the firm, leaves Liverpool and Paisley without any explanation. Paisley has so many unanswered questions. When Georgina shows back up, she wants answers, and then she wants nothing to do with Georgina ever again. If only her heart could be convinced to do just that.

Georgina Weaver’s dream was centered around her business, until her beautiful assistant quickly brightened her world. With the words ‘I love you’ spoken with such beauty and honesty, Georgina was prepared to give the entire world to Paisley. But someone does not want them to be together, and they’ll do whatever it takes to keep them apart, even threaten their very lives. When Georgina walks back through the doors of Weaver & Associates three years later, she learns some powerful news that propels her to try and win Paisley back. However, time hasn’t healed these particular wounds, and now Georgina fears that any kind of future with Paisley is permanently out of reach.

Will Paisley be able to move past the hurt and give Georgina another chance? Or will the ghosts of the past be enough to keep them apart forever?

The Characters

Tereze does a great job of making you feel sympathy for both of these women. Paisley’s sorrow is easy to relate to for anyone who was in love and have that love leave. On the outside, everything seems to be going well. But inside, she’s still hurting from a love lost. She’s been doing her best to pick up the pieces of the last three years, even starting an affair with another woman. But her heart will always belong to Georgina. She doesn’t want to love Georgina anymore. She just wants answers. But with the answers may come forgiveness.

When Georgina is first introduced, she breezes into the firm like she never left. She appears cool and collected. Behind closed doors, however, she is a mess and tormented over leaving Paisley. She knows her reasons for leaving were valid, but she can’t seem to let Paisley go, no matter the danger circling them. Still, Georgina must be strong and keep her distance. Unfortunately, her heart won’t allow her to let go.

The road to forever was never so challenging. If they can make it through the darkness, their future will be so much brighter.

The Writing Style

The key to the success of this story is the abruptness. Georgina leaves abruptly due to a mysterious threat, but she doesn’t inform anyone else of this threat. She just leaves, no note, no explanation. While it feels hurtful, it must be done to develop the mystery surrounding her departure. In addition, it shows the depth of love Paisley and Georgina have for each other. It is the kind of love that can only lead to pain when one person leaves in such a manner. Yet when all is revealed, that pain leads to pleasure, light, and a love stronger than these two women ever thought was possible.

The Pros

I really liked the secondary characters introduced, as well as having them with their own stances on whether or not Paisley should forgive Georgina. Having one pro and one con for the relationship really sold how tormented Paisley was on making the same decision.

The Cons

I would’ve liked to have seen more of the secondary characters. It’s always fun in these types of romances to see those who watched this relationship start and end be able to give their input on it, whether they’re for or against it.

The Conclusion

This was such a great read. It hits you with all the emotions of two people who love each other but had to separate, only to reunite stronger than ever. The mystery is perfect, Georgina and Paisley are so endearing to the reader you truly cheer them on through the entire story. Great job by Tereze and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Excerpt from Forever Yours by Melissa Tereze

“What the hell are you doing here!”

“I-I, uh…” Paisley was taken aback by Georgina’s behaviour, the door slamming shut behind her. “I wanted to see you.”

“What part of it’s not safe do you not understand?” Georgina roared. “How the fuck am I supposed to keep you safe when you just show up here unannounced?”

“Keep me safe?” Paisley stared at Georgina with confusion. Had this woman actually lost her mind. “I don’t need you to keep me safe. I’m fine.”

“No, none of this is fine.” Georgina held her head in her hands, dropping down onto the stairs…

“Okay, I can’t do this.” Paisley help up her hand. “You’re constantly blowing hot and cold with me and you’ve only been here a couple of days…”

“Paisley.” Georgina climbed to her feet, taking Paisley’s hands. “I want you to know that I never left because I didn’t love you, okay?” Georgina’s tears fell down her cheeks, Paisley’s heart breaking momentarily for the woman she once loved. “You…you didn’t do anything wrong.”

This meeting was becoming more confusing. Georgina wasn’t making any sense. The tears…could she believe they were real? Instead of falling for Georgina playing the victim card, Paisley asked her one simple question…

“Then why did you leave?”

“Because I had to,” Georgina sighed. “Just…we can’t be together. No matter how much I want to spend the rest of my life with you, we can’t.”

Paisley stepped away, her back connecting with the door. “I came here tonight hoping you would agree to spend Christmas with me, but this was a mistake. You coming back was a mistake.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way.” Georgina nodded, squaring her shoulders.
