Welcome to my 10 Best Lesbian Books Of 2017 list. These are, without a doubt my absolute favourite books of the year which is quite a feat since there were just so many excellent releases in 2017.

This is a combination list of audiobooks and ebooks which means that some of the titles were originally published previously but I considered them because their audiobooks were released in 2017.

Please bear in mind that my list is based on my personal preferences as well as what I have read this year. I cannot possibly read all the books released. However, rest assured that this list is full of incredible stories that are well written, exciting and in a word – gorgeous.

Five Moons Rising by Lise MacTague1 Five Moons Rising by Lise MacTague

Published by Bella books

This book is a: Urban Fantasy Action Romance

What it’s about

Unknown to regular citizens, nightmarish creatures lurk in the dark underbelly of human civilization. The presence of these supranormals (“supras”)—werewolves, vampires, demons—is a closely guarded government secret, as is the existence of a cadre of specially engineered Hunters charged with exterminating them.

Code-named Malice, Hunter Mary Alice Nolan was genetically modified and rigorously trained to use her great strength, heightened senses, and killer instincts to track and eliminate supras who prey on the innocent. A loner by choice, her only real link to the human world is her close connection to her mother and sister—until the unthinkable happens…

Ruri Samson has been a werewolf for more than a century and is comfortably situated as the Beta of her peaceful pack. Until she is betrayed by the woman she loves and an evil outsider massacres her Alpha and his most loyal followers. Barely escaping with her life, Ruri is forced to tread the perilous path of a lone wolf while vowing vengeance against the usurper and his minions.

Although these two powerful women should rightfully despise each other, fate will soon compel them to join forces on a dangerous quest to avenge their loved ones—and will ignite a forbidden passion that neither of them ever imagined.

Why I love it

At about 240 pages in the printed book it is a solid length and yet the story keeps up a good pace and I fell in love with the characters.

This book is a: Thawing The Ice Queen Romance

What it’s about

Why I love it

This is the second book in the series (so get Tricky Wisdom first) but it is ridiculously good. I didn’t think it was possible for the second book in a series to be this good and yet Eyde proved me wrong.

Djara by Kat Evans10 Djara by Kat Evans

This book is a: wild west romance with steamy sex

What it’s about

It was a period in time known as the westward expansion, a time when people from all over the country moved west in search of silver and gold. The population influx created a shift, and the untouched frontier became inhabited by corrupt men consumed with greed and spurred by desperation. In mining towns overtaken by outlaws, the primary capital was crime. The law of the land was there was no law in the land.

Orphaned as a child, rescued by magical Indians, and raised by a grizzly-bearded mountain man, Djara grew up to be the deadliest woman west of the Mississippi. With a steely determination as immovable as the white-capped Rockies, the gun-slinging bounty hunter fears only one person: a raven-haired beauty named Eden McAllister. When the trail of the ruthless Kody Lawless leads Djara back to Silverton, neither her resolve nor her Colt revolver is a match for a love as wild as the West.

This novelette of approximately 15,000 words is the first book of the DJARA series.

Why I love it

Evans has a gorgeous writing style. The concept is fun and the sex scenes were ridiculously steamy. The only reason this is not higher on the list is that it is a short story and the beginning of a series – so it ended on a cliffhanger. It’s so good, though.
