Scissor link by georgette kaplanScissor Link by Georgette Kaplan was the exception to the rule for me. I generally steer clear of romance because I get tired of the plots near the end but Scissor Link kept me engaged the entire time.

Wendy Cedar has been interning at Savin Aerospace when a higher up, Janet Lace, discovers her. Janet decides to extend an employment opportunity  at Savin to Wendy, which she accepts.

A possible information leak leads to Janet having to read through Wendy’s emails. Everything seems to check out and it’s looking like Wendy is a model employee. Until Janet stumbles upon an email about a wet dream Wendy has been having. About Janet.

“Subject: my big gay sex dream about my lesbian crush on my boss.”

Recently divorced and nothing to lose, Janet decides to see if she can turn Wendy’s wet dreams into a reality.

The Characters

Wendy Cedar is LIFE! If I could be like her when I grow up that would be great. Thanks. Wendy has this confidence about her. She’s a fem for work but a baby butch in her free time. I seriously idolize her. She works hard, plays hard and is super cool.

Janet Lace is the type of woman who seriously intimidates me. And yet, she turns me on so bad. I loved her character because she was willing to step out of her comfort zone and step up to the plate.

The Writing Style

I always find Georgette Kaplan’s books funny and amazing. I found the flow of the story smooth and focused on all the important points.

The Pros

Oh so funny!!!! SO SO FUNNY, as well as extremely sexy and steamy.

Also I buddy read this book with Tara and I hope it has shown her that age definitely doesn’t matter.

The Cons

If you don’t have a friend to read this with I am sad for you. Grab a friend and read it with them! Share your favorite moments! I know that there will be a ton.

Excerpt from Scissor Link by Georgette Kaplan

Janet’s reply was to open another, bigger drawer in her desk. She took out a video camera, the kind that fit neatly on one hand. She opened up the little viewfinder window and aimed it at Wendy before setting it down on her desktop. “Identify yourself for the record.”

Wendy heaved a sigh. “Wendy Augustine Cedar.”

“Augustine,” Janet repeated ponderously.

“It means ‘beloved of God’.”

“No, it doesn’t. Read now.”

Wendy shied away from the sight of her reflection in the camera lens, picking up the document and making an effort not to crush it in her grip. “‘ From: WCedar@gmail.com—’”

“Skip to where I left off,” Janet instructed.

“You’d received an e-mail…”

And then she did a funny thing.

She unbuttoned the first button on her blouse.

For Janet, that was a lot of button.

It was a lot of button for Wendy, too.

“Read,” Janet said, and Wendy scanned the document to find her place, wondering how in the hell she was going to survive reading this out loud, with Janet watching her, with her button unbuttoned.

Wendy cleared her throat.
